1967: Born, Washington, D.C.
1975: Moves with family from Endwell, N.Y., to Vestal, N.Y.
1978: Purchases first Van Halen album.
1983: Takes high school trip with classmates to Soviet Union.
1985: Graduates from Vestal High School; enrolls at SUNY-Brockport.
1989: Receives B.S. in military history from SUNY-Brockport.
1990: Works as bartender at Rusty Staub’s on 5th Avenue in New York City.
1992: Moves to Florida; enrolls as College of Journalism and Communications graduate student at University of Florida in Gainesville.
1995: Begins attending University of Florida College of Law.
1997: Graduates from Law School; moves to Tampa.
1998: Begins practicing law.
2002: Selected as Democratic nominee for the Florida State House, District 57;
2003: Named president of non-profit Voices for Children of Hillsborough County.
2004: Is recognized by Florida Governor Jeb Bush for his work on behalf of the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program.
2005: Is married in Sarasota, Fla., beach ceremony.
2006: U.S. Congressional candidate – recognized nationally for running his campaign bus on waste vegetable oil and biodiesel and appears with 9-time Grammy Winner Bonnie Raitt at a number of her concerts to promote clean energy.
2007: Becomes host of The Scott Farrell Show.
FAST FACTS
• Scott was president of the Law School Democrats while at the
University of Florida.
• Scott lettered in football at SUNY-Brockport.
• Scott is a Volunteer Guardian for abused and neglected children
• Scott’s mother was a schoolteacher. His father was an officer in
the Army and later as an executive at small computer parts
manufacturer.
• Scott moved to Florida on the same day in 1992 that Hurricane
Andrew hit South Florida.
• Scott is an avid sports fan; his favorite teams are the Florida
Gators (any sport), Washington Redskins (football), N.Y
Yankees (baseball) and Tampa Bay Lightning (hockey).
